I'm 22 at this point, live on my own in an apartment no bigger than a bedroom, and the only thing different from when I was a teenager living at home is that I now have the privacy of doing everything I did in my teenage bedroom, but at 3AM and/or naked. The band posters are still there, my clothes are still strewn haphazardly on my floor, and I still have glow-in-the-dark stars on my wall. Don't worry about being childish, you can still be responsible while having a bedazzled television.
Hi! I just turned 20 and I'm worried because it's a fact that my teenage years are gone. My bedroom is still full of teen spirit... is it immature for a 20-year-old? For some people it is, but I can't find another way to decorate it, I just love it. I think it is going to be a teenage bedroom forever (or at least for another ten years). Love the blog, it is so inspiring.
Haha, I love these kind of questions!
No, you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do, especially when it comes to decorating! And don’t worry about being immature! Just the mere fact that you are worried about being immature means that you’re probably way mature for your age, and don’t have anything to worry about.xoxo
I need teenage bedroom advice. I'm torn between going all out on my bedroom (teabags and pictures all over the walls, you get the idea), and making my room as minimalistic and clean as possible. Right now I have tons of pictures and posters up and I feel suffocated, but I don't want to take anything down because I'm afraid of it being too bare and boring. I'm horrible with decisions! Please help. -Olivia
Maybe make it all clean for a while, and if it doesn’t feel right, you can always add things bit by bit. This is what happened to me with my current bedroom—I wanted it to be super minimal, but then I couldn’t help but slowly add more and more. Good luck!xoxo
Do you think having white walls for a small bedroom is a good idea? Currently I have 2x purple, and 2x bright green walls, and the green gives me an absolute headache at night since it's the wall I look at when I go to sleep and also because I have a very bright white light globe. During the day, though, the room has a wonderful relaxed and neutral atmosphere due to having a large window that allows a lot of sunlight through. Opinions?
I think white walls always work, and especially in a small room, they can make it seem larger!xoxo
This blog is so interesting Some of the rooms arent beautiuflly color coordinated and have expensive furniture and things in them, but they look authentic and say alot about the person and thats what i love. Im a teenager myself and i see a room as a blank canvas, when someone walks into your room they should instantly know about you, your room expresses who you are from the color on the wall to the rug on the floor to the posters on the wall. A teenage bedroom is like an exhibition to our youth
