Hire several melancholic blonde girls to lay around and be eternally wistful? Short of that, which is probably not the most practical solution, I would start with really pale-pale pink walls. Hang lots of things that are kind of grandma-y, but in a creepy way-needlepoint, drawings of big-eyed children, ceramic animals—and throw a few rosaries around for good measure. Like you were in the midst of saying a few Hail Maries before you decided you needed to take a break to brush your hair. Lots of really girly things, like ornate perfume bottles and hand-mirrors and make-up brushes. White furniture with lots of scrolled details and a four-poster bed. Here are some great photos.
